This year my topic is 'The Non Linear Minefield', and as well as giving a quick overview of the various types of nonlinear screenplay and how to structure them, I'm talking about what can go wrong in writing these sorts of scripts. I'm asking delegates to send me questions ahead of time about what they're finding difficult in nonlinear screenwriting. Now, whether or not you're coming to the LSF, if you want to ask a question, email it to me at info@lindaaronson.com and I'll see if I can include it. I'm then post answers on the blog. We really need to get a dialogue going about nonlinear, now it's so common, so let's start now.

Talking about Parallel Narrative (non linear and multiple storyline films) in London at the London Screenwriters' Festival

I would definitely love to hear your comments on 'The Non Linear Minefield'. Can you share the video here, please? I am looking forward to write nonlinear screen play. But, before that, I have to know in detail about their structure.

To find out more about nonlinear screenwriting I'd suggest that you get hold of my book, The 21st Century Screenplay in which I go into great detail on how to construct many types of nonlinear screenplay. Alternatively or in addition you can get a 20% discount on the 2 hour long video of my appearance at the LSF if you subscribe to my newsletter. For a trailer from that video, go to http://store.lindaaronson.com

Alas, this post refers to 2012. In 2013 I won't be at the LSF, I'll speaking in the US. The best way to understand what I mean by the nonlinear minefield is to get hold of my book 'The 21st Century Screenplay' - you can get this via Amazon or via any good bookshop. Nonlinearity is discussed at great length in the book. Hope that helps. Linda

Hi, Sorry, I am very incompetent about these things. I have now added the feed to this page.I hope it works. Two other things that might interest you.I am about to launch a newsletter that will have a lot about how to construct nonlinear structures (you subscribe on this page) Also, there is currently a 20% discount on the 2 hour long video of a lecture I gave at the LSF on how to construct nonlinear narrative. For a trailer from that video, go to http://store.lindaaronson.com OR the video clips page on this site. You should also consider reading my book, The 21st Century Screenplay in which I go into great detail on how to construct many types of nonlinear screenplay.
